UT Campus

• The Lone Star House is located in West Campus, so you will only be a short walk or a quick bus ride to the University of Texas campus. You can hear the Tower bells chime from the property!
• The UT Campus has the Harry Ransom Center, President Lyndon B. Johnson's Library, the Erwin Center for basketball and concerts, Disch-Falk Field for baseball, and the DKR-Royal Memorial Stadium for football.

Downtown

• Historic 6th Street, the Warehouse District, and downtown Austin offer numerous restaurants, clubs, and bars with live music, great food, and unique Austin atmosphere.
• Downtown is only about a $6 or $7 cab ride away and there are Capital Metro buses available as well.

Live Music

• Austin is the Live Music Capital of the World, so come join us for South By Southwest (SXSW), the Austin City Limits Festival, or for concerts at any of our numerous live music venues.

Do you have Internet or phone access?

YES! We have high speed wireless Internet in the one Star House and across the whole property. A telephone is not available in the Lone Star House, but the property gets excellent cell phone service.

Bringing a laptop? Austin is a wired city and free wi-fi spots are available all over town and on the University of Texas Campus.

Are pets allowed?

We are a pet-friendly property, however, we ask that you declare any pets beforehand. We reserve the right to charge a fee if your pet causes damage to the property. The yards are not currently designed to hold pets without supervision, however, they are allowed to stay indoors while you are out enjoying the city. We are addressing outdoor pet areas in our renovations. Pets are not allowed in the pool area unsupervised, however, as long as a responsible owner is present, pets are allowed in the pool. Do you rent your place out for parties?

No, we are not a party facility. There are plenty of nice places in Austin to rent if you want to have a party. For the Lone Star House, we have an overnight occupancy limit of 6 and a daytime occupancy limit of 12 on the property. An extra fee and written consent from the management is required for parties larger than 12 people. Unapproved parties with more than 12 individuals will result in the immediate forfeiture of your deposit and possible eviction, depending on the severity of the infraction.

• Austin Parks and Recreation - Austin has lots of neat parks, some with pools or on the lakes, where you can rent pavilions, buildings, or picnic facilities at a very affordable rate.

• Austin's Elks - Two event halls - one large, one small - are available for the public to rent.  Convenient South Austin location.

• Daniel Caswell House - Historic Victorian-era house in Central/Downtown Austin available for weddings, parties, and other events.
